DHAKA: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained a BNP activist, also an alleged attacker of Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan-led procession, from the city’s Demra area early Friday.

The detainee was identified as Rezaur Karim alias Fahim.

RAB caught him in front of Doctor Mahabubur Rahman Molla College of the area around 1:15am and seized 20 petrol bombs and 20 cocktails from his possession.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Nazmul Hasan, also operation officer of RAB-10, confirmed the matter to banglanews.

The detainee was one of the attackers and is being interrogated, said the officer.
 
Earlier February 16, several cocktails were exploded at Gulshan-2 when a procession led by Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan was going to besiege the office of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
