BUET teacher quizzed over Avijit killing

DHAKA: Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan police (DMP) has interrogated Farseem Mannan Mohammad, teacher of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) over blogger and writer Avijit Ray killing.

He was quizzed for three hours at DB office located at Mintoo Road in the city on Tuesday evening.

DB DMP (south) deputy commissioner Krishnapada Ray said Farseem Mannan Mohammad has been quizzed on some allegations against him over Avijit Ray killing.

He had been brought to the DB headquarters around 3:00pm and interrogated for three hours, the DB DC said.

Earlier, former professor of Dhaka University Ajay Ray, also father of victim Avijit Ray, brought an allegation agant the BUET teacher, he added.
 
On February 26, Avijit Ray, 42, was hacked to death on the Dhaka University campus by unknown assailants. His wife and fellow blogger Rafida Ahmed Bonya sustained severe injuries in the attack.
