RANGAMATI: A person was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with law enforcers in Sajek area under Baghaichhari Upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon.

Identity of the deceased could not be known yet.

Rangamati police super Tariqul Hasan told banglanews that they came to know that an activist of United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) was killed in a gunfight in Nondermukh area in Sajek Union around 1:30pm.

A team of police was on way to the spot, he added.

Refuting any occurrence of gunfight in the area UPDF spokesperson Michel Chakma said, “We have no information about the incident. We stage democratic movement. We have no armed cadre. So, there is no chance of gunfight.”
