DHAKA: Police detained two persons from Molla Bari area of Tongi early Friday over Ashulia bank robbery that killed eight people in Katgara area.

The law enforcers also seized huge explosives and arms from their possession.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will brief media Friday.

Earlier on Tuesday, a daring bank robbery turned bloody as robbers shot dead seven people including the bank manager in Ashulia Industrial Area in Savar.

Later angry mob beat to death one of the robbers while they were fleeing with about Tk 35 lakh in broad daylight.

Locals also handed another robber over to the police, while the rest managed to flee the scene.
