DHAKA: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 16 Bangladeshis including two kids as they were trying to enter the country illegally from India through Bhomra frontier of the district on Tuesday.

Among the detainees, eight are men, six women and two children. However, their identity could not be known immediately.

Subeder Jalal Uddin of Bhomra BOP under BGB Satkhira-38 battalion confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said the BGB members detained them from the area around 6:00pm when they were trying to enter Bangladesh from India.

They would be handed over to the court soon, he added.
