Trapped migrants in Malaysia to be back soon

FROM JATIYA SANGSAD: Foreign minister Abul Hasan Mahmood Ali categorically said that the rescued migrants, who were stranded at sea, will be brought back home within one month.

The minister made the assertion at the National Parliament on Tuesday afternoon while answering a question placed by Jatiya Party (JP) lawmaker Nur-e-Hasna.

He said that some 738 Bangladeshi people, who were rescued in Malaysia, will be brought back at home by one month.

According to the minister, the foreign ministry always takes initiatives to bring trapped Bangladeshis back.

The trapped boat people, later rescued in Malaysia, will be back as part of these initiatives, he said.

Foreign, home and expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment ministries are working together to enlist the trapped migrants for their easy return, the minister added.
