DHAKA: The National Moon Sighting Committee will sit on Wednesday to fix the beginning date of the Arabic month of holy Ramadan – the month of fasting.

The meeting will be held at the conference room of Islamic Foundation in the national mosque Baitul Mukarram at 7:30pm.

Religious Affairs Minister, also president of the committee, Principal Motiur Rahman is expected to presided over the meeting.

People have been requested to inform the Islamic Foundation over telephone or fax if the new moon is sighted anywhere in the country’s sky.
