CHITTAGONG: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained three organizers of banned Islamist outfit Hizb-ut Tahrir from Muradpur area in the port city early Monday.

The detainees are-- apprentice lawyer Advocate Nur Mohammad, 29, Muntasir Mamun, 28, teacher of Acuyum English Medium School and M Sakahuddin, 28, BBA student of Government City College.

Lieutenant Colonel Miftah Uddin Ahmed RAB Chittagong Zone told banglanews that the detainees have been promoting activities of the organization since 2010.

Sources said acting on tip off, the elite force, in a drive, detained the trio them from Advocate Nur’s house where they gathered for holding a clandestine meeting.

The law enforcers also recovered some leaflets, laptops, Zihadi books and other documents from their possession.

A case will be filed against them under Anti-Terrorism Act, sources added.
