PATHARGHATA, BARGUNA: At least 11 fishermen went missing as a trawler capsized in Meher Ali area in the Bay of Bengal, 110 kilometer south-west from Pathargata of Barguna district early Monday.

However, the 11 missing fishermen were not found till filing the report at noon.

Barguna Trawler Owners Samity (BTOS) confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Quoting capsized trawler’s owner Ismail Sarder, BTOS president Golam Mustafa told banglanews that the trawler, FB Sagar, with 11 fishermen onboard sank off Meher Ali point in the sea due to storm at dawn.

Barisal Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-8 deputy commanding officer Major Adnan told banglanews that being informed, a team of RAB started operation to rescue the missing trawler and fishermen.

Moreover, Trawler Owners Samity and Trawler Sramik Union also joined the rescue operation.
