DHAKA: Ekushey Padak winner Professor Emeritus of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Dr Mujibur Rahman breathed his last early Monday.

He was 96.

Professor Mujibur was under treatment at Bangladesh Medical Hospital in city.

He was the founder Professor of Central Transfusion Center and Blood Bank at BSMMU, the then PG Hospital, president of Blood Transfusion Society of Bangladesh (BTSB) and member at Asian Association of Transfusion Medicine (AATM).

BSMMU authorities, Transfusion Medicine Department, BTSB and AATM-Bangladesh Chapter expressed their sorrows and prayed for the departed soul.
