DHAKA: The so-called racing of two passenger buses on a city road at Mahakhali area left a bus helper dead on Tuesday noon.

The deceased was identified as Parvez (25), helper of a passenger bus (Dhaka Metro Ja 112973) of Gazipur-Azimpur route.

Passengers said that two busses, one of Alam Asia (Dhaka Metro Ba 115355) of Dhaka-Mymensingh route and the other of Gazipur-Azimpur route, were trying to overtake each other at city’s Mohakhali aream leaving the helper of Gazipur-Azimpur route bus service severely injured.

Later, traffic police constable Nurul Haque of the area rescued the helper and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), where on-duty doctor declared him dead on arrival.

DMCH camp police in-charge Mozammel Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
