DHAKA: After heavy rainfall on Wednesday, met forecasts heavy rainfall is expected to continue for next two or three days.

However, 36 millimeters of rainfall has been recorded in Dhaka and neighborhood in last 24 hours.

Met office said highest rainfall was recorded in Sandwip in last 12 hours commencing 7pm Wednesday. 198 millimeters rainfall was recorded there. 

Besides, 152 millimeters of rain in Feni and 149 mm in Barisal were recorded.

In its weather forecast, met office said the sky of Dhaka and neighborhood is likely to be cloudy to overcast.

Besides, moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers accompanied by tempo gust or squally wind is likely to occur over the area.

Till 1pm Thursday,  in association with rain or thunder showers temporary south or south-easterly squalls speed 60-80 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong And Cox’s Bazar  wherein riverports shall hoist  riverine warning signal number two.

Rain or thunder showers accompanied by tempo  south or southeasterly gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur elsewhere over the country wherein  riverports  shall hoist cautionary signal number one.

Due to active monsoon over southern part of  Bangladesh, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at places over Khulna, Barisal And Chittagong divisions during next 24 hrs commencing 04:00 pm Wednesday.
