MANIKGANJ: At least four people were killed and six others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a pick-up on Dhaka-Aricha highway at Jagir area under Sadar upazila early Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as pick-up driver Taslim Mia, 35, son of one Anu Molla, hailed from Gopinathpur of Harirampur Upazila, his assistant Rabbi Mia, 18, son of one Akkas Ali, hailed from Joynagar of Sadar upazila, bus driver Rasel Molla, son of one Zaker Mia, from Ghonapara of Kashiani Upazila and Takdir Molla, 70, from Lohagara Upazila of Narail.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Golra Highway Thana Mizanul Haque told banglanews that a Paturia-bound pick-up van collided had-on with a passenger bus in the area around 12:45am, leaving three dead on the spot and seven others injured.

The injured were taken to Manikganj Sadar Hospital where another succumbed to his injuries, he added.

OC Mizanul Haque also said police sent the bodies to the morgue of Manikganj Sadar Hospital.
