SIRAJGANJ: At least three people, including a child, were killed as a bus and a truck collided head-on in Kashimpur area on Sirajganj-Dhaka highway in Sirajganj district.

The accident took place around 5:45pm on Sunday.

It has also left 20 more people injured, who are now admitted at Sadar Hospital of the district.

Among the deceased, the child has been identified as Masum (10), son of one Rafiqul Islam of Kapasia upazila of Gazipur district while identities of the other victims could not be known immediately.

Confirming the matter to banglanews Sirajganj civil surgeon Dr Debapada Roy said that many of the victims are in critical condition at the hospital.

Bangabandhu Bridge Pashchim Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Helal Uddin told banglanews that a head-on collision was made between a Dhaka-bound bus of Dipjol Enterprise and a truck leaving three dead and at least 20 injured.

On information, police and fire fighters rushed to the spot and rescued the victims, the OC added.
