DHAKA: President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday paid tributes to late Social welfare minister Syed Mohsin Ali when his body was taken to South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad in city.

Earlier in the day, people from all walks of life including eminent citizens, political leaders paid last tribute to Mohsin Ali at Shaheed Minar.

Later at 10:00am, he was taken to South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad where President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Dr Shirin Shermin Chowdhury, ministers and members of the parliament paid their last tribute to the late minister.

Then his namaz-e-Janaza was held there. Later, he will be flown to Moulvibazar in a helicopter around 12:00pm.

He will then be brought to Moulvibazar Government High School Shahid Minar premises to pay respects from all walks of life.

Syed Mohsin Ali will be laid rest next to his parents on Shah Mustafa Mazar premises in Moulvibazaar district.

In a Singapore Airlines flight, his body arrived at Shaljalal International Airport 10:40am and then was taken to his government residence around 12:00am.

Earlier on Monday, the social welfare minister passed away at Singapore General Hospital in Singapore at the age of 67.
