TANGAIL: Two people were shot to death and six others sustained injuries during a clash between police and villagers in Ghatail upazila of Tangail over rape of a woman in front of her son.

The deceased were identified as Faruk, 32,  Satutia village and Shamim, 35, of Kalia village of the upazila.

The injured were rushed to Kalihati Upazila Health complex where the duo succumbed to their injuries around 6:00pm.
 
Upazila Health complex doctor Mafuja Yeasmin confirmed the deaths of two people to banglanews.
