DHAKA: Foreign ministers of two influential European countries -- Germany and France -- are scheduled to visit Bangladesh together on September 21 on a three-day tour.
Foreign minister Abul Hasan Mahmood Ali disclosed the matter in a press briefing on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s New York visit to join United Nation’s general assembly on Thursday.
He termed the joint visit as a historical event, which never happened in the country.
Mahmood Ali said during the Paris meeting in June, his France counterpart Laurent Fabius expressed interest to visit Bangladesh along with German FM Frank-Walter Steinmeier and he invited them for visiting.
The two FMs will visit a running project in Patuakhali, which was taken in a bid to adopt climate change.
Apart from this, France and Germany are two friendly countries of Bangladesh. They also spread their helping hand during the Bangladesh Libaration War in 1971.
