DHAKA: City corporation mayor Annisul Huq asserted that ‘u-loops’ will be constructed from city’s Saatrasta intersection to Cheragali of Gazipur district.

The Dhaka North City Corporation mayor made this assertion on Saturday morning to the media at Jasimuddin Avenue of Uttara in city.

He said that primarily four projects have been taken in hands.

These projects, including Kakoli, Airport, Jasimuddin and Abdullahpur intersections, will be implemented within six months, the mayor added.

According to him, gradually u-loops will be constructed in Sonargaon, Farmgate, Bijoy Sarani, Gulshan 1 and 2 areas.

Both road and transport department and city corporation will finance at the projects, the mayor said and hoped that about 50 percent of traffic congestion will be lessened.

He further informed the media that some other major projects will be taken by 3 or 4 years to easy traffic jam.
