NARAIL: A Narail court on Sunday granted bail to editor of bangla daily Bangladesh Protidin Naem Nizam in a defamation case.

Narail senior judicial magistrate Mohammd Zakaria passed the order in response to bail plea filed by the editor Nayeem   Nizam.

Earlier in the day, appeared before the court and sought bail.

On September 15, the court issued an arrest warrant against the editor of the daily Bangladesh Pratidin and publisher Mustafa Kamal Mohiuddin.

Court sources said that the warrant was issued following a sports report published in the daily on May 18, 2012.

Bangladesh Volleyball Federation general secretary Mohammad Ashuqur Rahman Miku filed a defamation case on June 3 of the same year.
