DHAKA: Fugitive Kamrul Islam, key accused in gruesome Rajon killing case in Sylhet district, is expected to be brought back in the country from Saudi Arabia after completion of Eid-ul-Azha holidays in the first week of October.
Bangladesh ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Masih said they have completed almost all proceedings in this regard.
He also said the eid holidays will be ended in Saudi Arabia on September 30 and then the other processes of repatriation will be done.
Meanwhile, the Sylhet Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court fixed October 1 as the first date of deposition in the Rajon murder case after framing charges against 13, including fugitive Kamrul Islam.
Other accused are: Kamrul Islam’s brother Muhit Alam, Ali Haider and Shamim Ahmed, Moina Choukidar, Ruhul Amin, Tajuddin Ahmed Badal, Dulal Ahmed, Nur Mia, Firoz Mia, Asmat Ullah and Ayaj Ali.
Of them, Kamrul, Shamim and Ayaj Ali are fugitive.
Other dates of the deposition are October 4, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15.
On September 7, Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court-1 Judge Shahedul Karim sent the case to the Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court.
Earlier on August 16, police submitted charge-sheet against prime accused Kamrul and 12 others in sensational minor boy Rajon murder case.
Investigation officer Suranjit Talukder submitted the chargesheet before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Shahedul Karim.
Rajon died of brain hemorrhage after a group of brutes beat him up in Kumargaon Bus Stand area in Sylhet on July 8 apparently to punish him for stealing.
His body bore as many as 64 injury marks according to the autopsy report.
