Bangladeshis injured in hajj stampede

DHAKA: Some Bangladeshi pilgrims were injured in the hajj stampede in Mina near Makkah on Thursday.

Identities of the victims could not be known immediately.

Bangladesh consulate in Jeddah first secretary Azizur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Identities of Bangladeshi victims could not be known as nobody is being allowed to enter the hospitals, he added.

Moreover, state minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alam has given to phone numbers in Mina to provide information regarding the Bangladeshi pilgrims.

The phone numbers are +966537375898 and +966509360082.

However, the tragic stampede has left at least 453 dead and over 700 injured during the hajj ritual of 'stoning of the devil' in Mina.
