CHUADANGA: Two people were killed and one injured as a truck and human-hauler collided head-on in Chuadanga district on Saturday morning.

The accident took place on Chuadanga-Jhenaidah road in Subdia area of sadar upazila.

The deceased were identified as Shafi (35), the human-hauler driver and also son of Azizul of Alamdanga upazila of the district and Khairul Islam (65), a passenger residing in Aramdanga village of sadar upazila.

Khairul’s wife Alea Khatun (55) was injured in the accident.

However, locals seized the truck. But the driver and his assistant managed to flee the spot immediately.

Chuadanga Sadar Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Liakat Hossain told banglanews that the victims were going to Jhenaidah district by the human-hauler.

After the accident, Shafi, Khairul and his wife Alea Khatun were admitted to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared human-hauler driver dead.

Later, Khairul died on his way to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) around 11:00am as his physical condition derogated.
