COX’S BAZAR: Two children drowned in the Bay of Bengal while having a bath at Kolatali point of the beach in Cox’s Bazar Saturday noon.

A child is also under medical treatment in critical condition.

The deceased were identified as Tasnim Akhtar (10), daughter of Lokman Hakim of Jinglaj union of sadar upazila and Mina Akhtar (12) of Kutupalang Refugee Camp of Ukhia upazila.

Police said that six children came to have bath at the bay and three of them drowned due to low tide around 12:30pm.

On information, Lifeguard members rescued them and rushed them to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared two of them dead.

According to the physicians, condition of the other victim is critical.

Cox’s Bazar Tourist Police additional police super Zahirul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
