MYMENSINGH: A joint secretary was crushed under the wheels of a train in Mymensingh on Monday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Ranajit Chandra Sarkar (55) of primary and mass education ministry.

District Railway Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Ahad told banglanews that the joint secretary died while under treatment at Mymensing Medical College and Hospital (MMCH).

He further said that Ranajit fell under wheels of Dhaka-bound Haor Express train while trying to get in.

Later, he was rushed to MMCH where he succumbed to injures, the OC added.

Primary information said that Ranajit was returning Dhaka from his home district Netrokona after the vacation of Eid-ul-Azha.
