GAZIPUR: Two people were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Bhogra bypass area of the city on Thursday morning.

Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Naojorh highway police outpost in-charge sub inspector Baharul Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said that a bus collided head-on with a covered van in the area of Gazipur city around 6:00am, leaving two pedestrians dead on the spot.

On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, the SI added.
