DHAKA: A city court issued an arrest warrant against Asian TV chairman Harun-or-Rashid over cheque falsification as 15 cheques of Tk 75 lakh issued by him to a businessman bounced.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Nur Miah passed the order on Thursday.

Plaintiff’s lawyer AR Khan told banglanews that businessman Rashed Ahmed filed the case against Asian TV chairman Harun-or-Rashid and managing director Mizanur Rahman. Later, the court summoned the duo.

Responding to the summons, Mizanur Rahman surrendered before the court and applied for bail.

The court granted his bail but issued an arrest warrant against the chairman as he denied the summons.
