DHAKA: The High Court (HC) asked Gaibandha-1 constituency lawmaker Manjurul Islam Liton to appear before it at 1:00pm Monday in the case filed for shooting a boy Saurab.

The HC bench of justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Bhismadev Chakrabarti passed the order while hearing an anticipatory bail petition.

Lawyer Mokhsedul Islam moved for the bail hearing.

Earlier on Sunday, lawyer Ariful Islam filed the petition in the HC seeking anticipatory bail of his client.

On October 2, a nine-year-old schoolboy was shot in legs allegedly by local ruling Awami League (AL) lawmaker Liton in Gopalcharan area in Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha.
