3 killed in city road crashes

DHAKA: Three people were killed in separate road accidents at different places of the city between Wednesday night and Thursday dawn.

Of the deceased, two were identified as Ahmad Ali, 45, a worker of cement factory in Munshiganj, Moron, 16, who resided in city’s Shyamoli Housing area.

In Uttara, a 35-year-old unidentified man was injured after being knocked by a covered van in Abdullahpur crossing area. Locals rushed him to Tongi Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Later, Uttara West Thana sub-inspector (SI) M Nur Alam sent the body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
 
In Pallabi, Ahmad Ali sustained severe injuries after being run over the cement-laden truck while unloading cements in front a shop in city’s Pallabi area.

On arrival at DMCH, duty doctor declared him dead around 6:00am, DMCH police outpost in-charge Mozammel Haque told banglanews.

On the other hand, a teenager was run over by a speedy truck in Mohammadpur Beribadh area in the city.

Mahammadpur Thana sub-inspector (SI) Akter Hossian told banglanews that the body was sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy.
