Low over bay, signal-3 at seaports

DHAKA: Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three.

According to a meteorology office bulletin, a low has formed over west central bay off Andhra Pradesh coast and adjoining areas, extending it to the north.

Under its influence, deep convection is taking place over north bay. Squally weather may affect north of the bay, adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh and the maritime ports.

All fishing boats and trawlers over north bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.

In association with rain or thunder showers temporary south or south easterly, gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Jessore, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar wherein riverports shall hoist cautionary signal number one.
