DHAKA: Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal number three.
According to a bulletin of Bangladesh Meteorological department, the low over westcentral bay off Andhra coast and adjoining area persists, extending its trough to North Bay.
Under its influence, deep convection is taking place over North Bay. Squally weather may affect North Bay, adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh and the maritime ports.
All fishing boats and trawlers over north bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
In another message, the met office said in association with rain/thunder showers temporary south or south-easterly gusty or squally wind speed 45-60 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar And Sylhet wherein riverports shall host cautionary signal number one.
