DHAKA: Clashes between police and workers took place at Tejgaon Truck Stand in city on Sunday afternoon leaving scores injured.

One of the injured has been identified as Jasimuddin (40), a covered-van driver.

He has been sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

The incident occurred as law enforcers went to the area to evict illegal truck stand.

Earlier around 1:30pm, a rumor of Jasim’s murder made the workers violent, said the law enforcers.

Moreover, the agitated workers vandalized cars and chase and counter chase between police and workers were continuing till the report filing.
