GOPALGANJ: Miscreants strangled to death to two minor siblings at Bhojergati village under sadar upazila of the district Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Raihan Sardar, 10 and his younger brother Rois, 4, sons of one Yusuf Sardar, teacher of Gauhardanga Madrasa in Tungipara Upazila, hailed from the area.

Quoting victims’ mother, Kulsum Begum, officer-in-charge (OC) of Gopalganj Police Station Selim Reza told banglanews that two miscreants entered the house and blind folded, gagged and tied her hands.

Later, they strangled the children to death, he added.

Meanwhile, additional superintendent of Gopalganj police Abdullah Al Mamun, assistant superintendent (circle) and other high-ups and a team of police bureau of investigation (PBI) visited the crime scene.

Police, however, took victims’ parents under their custody for quizzing, he added.
