BENAPOLE, JESSORE: A 30-member delegation of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) arrived in Bangladesh on a 12-day visit to participate training on joint Border Control Management (BCM).
The team led by BSF training academy officer lieutenant colonel Gurbindar Singh crossed border 1:00pm Friday after immigration formalities at Benapole checkpost.
The other delegation members include 16 senior officer of BSF, nine JCOs and five sepoys.
BGB members led by 26-batalion commanding officer lieutenant colonel Jahangir Hossian, welcomed the BSF delegation.
The joint training will be held on border management at BGB academy at Baitul Ijjat in Satkania upazila of Chittagong from December 4 to 14.
On December 02, a 10-member BGB delegation went to India on a 12-day visit to participate border control management (BCM) at BSF training school in Delhi, the capital city of India.
They will return home on December 14.
26-batalion commanding officer lieutenant colonel Jahangir Hossian told banglanews that the exchange of BCM training will play pivotal role in preventing smuggling, women and child trafficking and infiltration in bordering areas.
It will also strengthen friendly relation between two negibouring countries, he hoped.
