DINAJPUR: Six people sustained injuries in a blast at Rash Mela arranged at Kantaji Temple in Kaharul upazila of the district early Saturday.

Three of the injured were admitted to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.

They are Umakanta Das, 22, from Kashipur upazila of Dinajpur, Sadhan, 35, from Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat, and Mokaddes, 39, from Badarganj Uapzila of Rangpur.

Other injured include Mithu, 30, from Nilphamari, Jabbar Ali, from Shibpur upazila of Dinajpur and Saidur, 27, of Kaharul upazila.

Injured Saidur told banglanews that some cocktails were blasted at the pandal of Jatra Pala at Rash Mela around 12:30am, leaving six people injured.

Rash Mela is one of the most popular festivals celebrated by people of Hindu Community.
