MANIKGANJ: Ferry services on the Daulatdia-Paturia route in the Padma River has been suspended since early hours of Sunday due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.

Mohiuddin Russel, assistant manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Paturia Ferry ghat told banglanews that plying of ferries and other water vessels came to a halt around 6:00am due to low visibility.

Ro-Ro ferry Golam Mowla, small ferry Kapoti passengers and vehicles on board remained stuck at mid Padma due to thick fog.

Ferry services on the route will resume after density of fog decreases, the BIWTC official said.
