RANGAMATI: Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq on Friday said freedom fighters (FF) will get Tk10,000 as monthly allowance.
The minister further said: “The FFs also will get free treatment from any hospitals in the country and government will bear the expenses.”
The minister came up with the disclosure while speaking at a view exchange meeting at Rangamati district commissioner’s (DC) seminar room in the morning.
Earlier, he inaugurated the District Freedom Fighter Complex in Tablachhari area in the district.
He said the state will build the graves of the freedom fighters following similar design that will particularly show their identity.
Religious and communal identities of the freedom fighters will be kept intact, he added.
True history of liberation war and war criminals’ activities will be included in the academic syllabuses. “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already instructed about it,” he added.
Later, the minister paid homage to the newly built grave of Bir Sreshtho Lance Naik Munshi Abdur Rouf at Naniarchar.
Rangamati DC Samsul Arefin presided over the program where former minister of state for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs and Rangamati district Awami League president Dipankar Talukdar was present as chief guest.
