No minority to Prophet Mohammad

DHAKA: Speakers at an Islamic seminar opined that although persecution of minorities is currently a burning issue, there was none considered as minority in the eyes of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (S).

‘Nobody belongs to minority in the eyes of the Prophet. If a person belongs to a particular race or religion, they used to get equal rights as of other citizens,’ said Malaysia’s International Shari’ah Research Academy (ISRA) research assistant mufti Yusuf Sultan at the seminar.

A seminar titling ‘Exercising ideology of Prophet Muhammad (S) in Digital Media’ was held at East West Media Group Limited (EWMGL) conference room in city’s Bashundhara Residential Area on Saturday morning.

‘Another much-talked-about issue is women's rights. But the prophet said that the man is the best who will be best to his wife. It shows the Prophet’s view in respecting women,’ he added.

’So, it is needed to disseminate the sermons of our Prophet, his lifestyle as well as values. Campaign of the Prophet is meant the promotion of Islam.’

The mufti further said, ‘Jihad would have been in the world. Jihad of the Prophet is being distorted. Jihad means battle against terrorism. The fight against armed terrorists… There were no woman and child died during the war’.

He said, ‘We are gradually being communal. Upholding the messages of the Prophet is needed to establish a non-communal society’.

The Islamic scholar also put emphasis on creating a website in Bangla and campaigns on Facebook to spread sermons of the Prophet as well as his life.

Eminent Islamic scholars, writers and researchers from different parts of the country also addressed the seminar, arranged by ‘Islam’ department of Banglanews24.com.

The speakers also highlighted the events of spreading Islam by the Prophet (S) himself.
