DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner M Asaduzzaman Mia said permission for holding rallies of Awami League and BNP on January 5 will be given after completion of security assessment centering the programs.
‘Law enforcement agencies are assessing the matters whether there is any fear of insecurity and violence. Decision of the DMP will be given later on Sunday,’ the DMP boss said.
He made the assertion while addressing a program at DMP office marking second anniversary of the DMPnews, a online news portal, on Sunday (January 3).
Asaduzzaman Mia said Awami League and BNP both have sought permissions of DMP to hold rallies at the same venue and on the same day.
Law enforcer will submit report on security assessment this afternoon. On basis of the report, the decision will be given whether they would get permission to hold the rallies, he added.
None would be spared if anybody tries to create anarchy centering the rally, the DMP chief warned.
Regarding Jamaat leaders detention with cash, he said that they were distributing money to conduct sabotage.
