DHAKA: A powerful earthquake has jolted the country including Dhaka on Monday morning. The tremor struck around 5:05am.

The magnitude of the quake was 6.7 in Richter scale and the epicenter was 60 kilometer below the surface at Monipur of India. There were no reports of serious damage due to earthquake.

Panicked people rushed out of their residences in the capital immediately after the tremor.

According to locals, it was one of the strongest earthquakes they have ever felt.
