DHAKA: Four persons died due to heart attack when the 6.7 magnitude earthquake jolted the country, forcing people to rush out of their homes in panic early Monday.
Besides, 70 others, including students of Dhaka University, were injured after the tremor.
The dead persons are identified as Atikur Rahman Atik, 27, teacher of a local kindergarten and Khalilur Rahman, 38, head cook of Bangabandhu Hall at Rajshahi University, Nur Islam kandu, 50, businessman of Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat, and Abul Kashem, 40, of Belkuchi upazila in Sirajganj.
The tremor struck around 5:05am.
The magnitude of the quake was 6.7 in Richter scale and the epicenter was 60 kilometer below the surface at Monipur of India.

Atikur, resident of east Jurain area in the capital city, felt chest pain while rushing out of building.
Later, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctor declared him dead.
Besides, DMCH night duty official Habibur Rahman said 29 injured have taken treatment from the hospital. Most of them were students of Dhaka University.
The injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
A police constable received severe injury at police headquarters after jumped off the barrack, Habibur added.
On the other hand, the quake left large crack in a building of Shankhari Bazar in Dhaka.
In Rajshahi, Khalilur died of cardiac arrest when a massive earthquake shakes Rajshahi at dawn, said Dr Mohammad Jahid Hasan, provost of Bangabandhu Hall at Rajshahi University.
In Lalmonirhat, Nur Islam laid down on floor while rushing out of home during earthquake. Later, he died of cardiac arrest on the spot.
In Sylhet, four of family received injuries as wall of a 10-storey building has collapsed due to earthquake in Zindabazar area of the city.
Besides, 35 people, including aforesaid four of a family, who sustained injuries while rushing out of home, were admitted to Osmani Medical College Hospital.
In Sirajganj, Kashem died of heart attack and five others were injured in different places while rushing out of home during earthquake in panic, Belkuchi municipality mayor Ashanur Biswas confirmed the matter to banglanews.
