TANGAIL: A dacoit was killed and ten others injured in a ‘gunfight’ with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Anayetpur area of sadar upazila of Tangail district early Monday.

Tangail RAB-12 crime prevention company (CPC)-3 company commander and additional police super Mohammad Mohiuddin Faruki told banglanews that a gang of 11 dacoits was robbing the house of one Arjun Mia around 4:00am.

On information, a patrol team of RAB rushed to the spot. Noticing the presence of RAB, the dacoits blasted cocktails and opened fire.

In retaliation, RAB also fired back that trigarred a gunfight, leaving a dacoit shot dead on the spot and ten others injured.

Later, firearms, gold ornaments and cash were recovered from the spot.

However, the injured dacoits were admitted to Tangail Medical College Hospital in the district.
