DHAKA: International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Thursday took formal charges brought against Kishoreganj ‘razakar commanders’ Syed M Hossain and M Moslem Prodhan to cognizance for their alleged crimes against humanity during liberation war.
The three-member ICT led by chairman Justice Anwar-ul-Haque set February 15 for charge hearing in the case.
On December 3, Prosecutors submitted six specific charges against the two alleged razakars for their alleged crimes committed in Kishoreganj during the war in 1971.
On October 7, the ICT investigation agency submitted final probe report on allegations against Syed M Hossain and Moslem Prodhan of Kishoreganj to the prosecution.
In the report, some six allegations, including genocide, arson attack, confinement, abduction and torture, were brought against them.
Chief coordinator of the probe agency Abdul Hannan and senior coordinator Sanaul Haque Mia said a 439-page document has been added in the 161-page probe. Depositions of witness, draft map and still photograph of crime scene and index will also be included in the report.
During the investigation, as many as 60 people gave testimonies, they added.
On July 7, ICT issued arrest warrant against the duo in war crimes cases.
Later, police arrested Moslem from his home at Kamarhati village under Nikli upazila of Kishoreganj.
