DHAKA: The namaz-e-janaza of eminent economist and BRAC university professor emeritus Dr Mahabub Hossain will be held on Friday noon (January 7).

Body of the deceased is scheduled to arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in city around 10:15am Thursday (January 7).

Then, it will be taken to Gulshan Azad mosque where the janaza is scheduled to be held after juma’h prayers, family sources informed the matter to banglanews.
 
After janaza, he will be buried at Banani graveyard in city.

Earlier on Monday, He breathed his last at the operation table of the Cleveland Hospital in USA at 2:45am (Bangladesh time) at the age of 71.

Dr Mahabub, who had been suffering from heart disease for last two years, went to the USA on December 15 for treatment.

He left behind his wife, two daughters and a son. He was the chairperson of the university’s economics and social science department of the university.
