DHAKA: The government has decided to appoint Sultana Laila Hossain as Bangladesh new ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco.
She is currently serving as Consul General in Bangladesh Consulate General in Los Angeles.
Laila will replace ambassador Monirul Islam, who has been made inaugural envoy to Bangladesh embassy in Ethiopia, said a press release of External Publicity Wing of foreign ministry issued on Thursday.
Sultana Laila Hossain, a career diplomat, belongs to 11th batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre.
In her diplomatic career besides being the Bangladesh Consul General in Los Angeles, she served in Bangladesh missions in New Delhi and Yangon in different capacities.
She also worked as Director General (Consular & Welfare) in the ministry.
Sultana Laila Hossain obtained an MSc in Microbiology from Dhaka University. In personal life she is blessed with a daughter.
