DHAKA: Two persons were killed in road accidents in city’s Ramna and Shyampur areas early hours of Friday.

The deceased were identified as Shahidul Islam, 22, son of Shafiqul Islam of Patuakhali and Faruk, 30, helper of a truck.

Ramna Thana sub-inspector (SI) Anisur Rahman said that Shahidul received injuries after a vehicle ran over him in front of Ramna Thana police Bhaban around 5:00am.

Later, he was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctor declared him dead around 6:30am.

A truck ran over Faruk in front of Dhaka Match Factory in city’s Shyampur area around 3:00am, leaving him injured critically.

Later, he succumbed to his injuries at DMCH.

DMCH police outpost assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sentu Chandra Das said the bodies have been kept at morgue for autopsy.
