CHITTAGONG: A fire broke out in Amin Jute Mill in the city’s Sholoshahor area, burning down goods at about Tk 12 lakh on Wednesday.

Mill authority and fire brigade sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit in the Batching unit of the mill at around 7:20 am.

On information, five firefighting units from Agrabad and Bayezid Bostami fire stations rushed in and doused the flames after three hours of frantic efforts.

The blaze also damaged infrastructures of the factory.

BJMC’s Chittagong Zone Deputy Director General Gazi Fosiul Alam told banglanews24.com.bd that goods including fiber roll, rope, and gunny bags were burnt in the fire.
