HABIGANJ: Law enforcers arrested novice lawyer and journalist Shafiqul Alam in Habiganj municipality Jamaat leader and businessman Mahibur Rahman killing case.

Habiganj Thana police arrested him from Titumir college area in capital on Friday noon.

Local sources said that on June 17, Shafiqul Alam allegedly killed his cousin No-6 ward Jamaat leader Mahibur Rahman over land dispute.

Victim’s elder brother Mujibur Rahman filed a murder case against 16 people including Shafiqul.

On Friday Shafiqul come Dhaka to sit in for bar council examination. On information, a team of Habiganj Thana police arrested him from Titumir college area.

Shafiqul is a novice lawyer and district correspondent of daily Bhorer Kagoj.

Habiganj Thana Officer-in-Charge Muzammel Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
