Proshika chairman among 6 sued

DHAKA: Proshika Chairman Kazi Faruk Ahmed and five others were sued with Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court on Wednesday.

Kamrul Islam, former computer operator of the NGO (non-government organization) filed the case.

The other five accused are chief executive officer Kazi Khaje Alam, director OCFO Altaf Hossain, director Mahbub Alam and Abul Kashem Palash and deputy director Alamgir Hossain.

Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibul Haque filed testimony of the plaintiff and ordered Officer-in-Charge of Mirpur Thana to submit the investigation report.

The plaintiff filed lawsuit alleging that in a road accident, on October 20, 2008, Kamrul lost one of his legs and resigned.

For working over a long time in Proshika, he owed some Tk 135,386 from PF, workers welfare fund and gratuity. But Proshika paid him only Tk 50,000.  

The allegation also said, on July 29 of 2013, the accused threatened to Kamrul for asking money any more and said they would not pay if he communicates with Proshika directly.
