A man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Rangunia upazila of Chattogram on Friday (June 20) around 11:30am.

The deceased was identified as Shibu Marma, 35, son of Chingchala Marma from Barakholapara in Sarafbhata.

The incident happened in the Khaindar Kul area under Sarafbhata Union as he was returning home from his in-laws’ house, said police.

South Rangunia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sabbir Mohammad Selim said the body was recovered from the scene and sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

“There were bullet wounds on the victim’s chest. The attackers have not yet been identified. Legal action will be taken once those responsible are found,” the OC added.
