2 awarded death penalty in M’singh

MYMENSINGH: A Mymensingh court on Wednesday awarded death penalty to two siblings in a case for their involvement of killing farmer Ramjan.

The convicts are Humayun Kabir and Jahangir Alam, son of Abdur Rahim of Gauripur upazila of the district.

District Special Session Judge Humayun Kabir delivered the verdict on Wednesday.

The court also fined Tk 30,000 compensation each of the two and sentenced jail to 10 more people in various term.

The case statement said convicts killed farmer Ramjan on December 30, 2006 at Singraunda village under the upazila.

Later, the deceased’s younger brother filed a murder case against the convicts.
